Sixth Form CurriculumIn Year 12 most students study four subjects through to AS (Advanced Subsidiary) level. The subjects available are listed below. During Year 13 most students take three of their subjects through to A2 (Advanced Level). In addition, General Studies is taught in both year 12 and year 13. Students in Year 12 take an AS examination in this subject, whilst students in Year 13 can opt to take the A2 examination. The Personal, Social and Health Education programme and Physical Education are also an integral part of the Sixth Form curriculum.
There are also numerous opportunities for students to participate in a wide range of sporting activities, public speaking, the Young Enterprise Scheme, voluntary work, the debating team and the poetry society. In addition, there is a strong music tradition with opportunities to join the orchestra, wind band, string groups and one or more of the choirs. The subjects offered at each Key Stage and the structure of the timetable are reviewed on an ongoing basis. AS Level Option Blocks for 2010-2011
