Facilities

Alderley Edge School for Girls is justly proud of its top quality facilities and accommodation.

The merging of two long established Independent Girls Schools presented the school governing body with the unprecedented opportunity to embark upon a multi-million pound building programme. As a result of this huge investment, AESG is able to boast a superb new senior school.

The new build includes six science laboratories all fitted to a very high standard and all fully equipped. A purpose designed and well equipped ICT suite provides an excellent study environment adjacent to the new Senior School library.

A major feature of the new school facilities is the very impressive competition size Sports Hall. This offers first class indoor sport facilities that benefits local community organisations in addition to our own pupils and staff and complements the more traditional facilities that the existing gymnasium offers.

The new accommodation has provided well appointed classrooms for the Senior School departments including a language laboratory and music keyboard studio. The Art Department and the Department of Design Technology are located in adjacent studios and share an ICT suite with specialist photographic, design and manufacturing software. The Food Technology Department is also housed in a modern, well equipped room that offers facilities of a high standard.

As a further part of the investment programme, the existing school buildings have been refurbished, as necessary, to provide the Junior School with a new science laboratory, an ICT suite and its own library. Junior School classrooms are well furnished, warm and welcoming.

All the Junior School classrooms and other work areas are, in common with all rooms in the new building, networked to the purpose built communications room. The comms room provides a central location for the network servers and telephone equipment.
