Pastoral Care in the Junior School
Within the Junior School, the pastoral care and educational support of pupils is undertaken by the class teachers.
The children are encouraged to abide by the school standards of being gentle, kind and helpful, good listeners, hard workers, honest, to look after property and to be responsible for their own actions.
Merit Awards and House Points
We have special Merit Award and House Point assemblies where girls who have impressed their teacher are presented with certificates for effort and House Point totals are announced.
In Key Stage 1 the winning House has their colour ribbon tied onto ‘Alderley Bear’.
In Key Stage 2 the House Captains present House Totals and House Champions to girls and the winning house has their house ribbon displayed on the House Cup for the week.
Pupil Responsibilities
Our Head Girls and Prefects play an important role in school life and enjoy the responsibility this brings.
The Junior School has its own School Council with members elected from each class by their peers. They meet once every half term to discuss the pupils' views and ideas about school life.
