Key Stage 2
In Key Stage 2, we aim to build upon the sound foundation provided by Key Stage 1. In this nurturing environment, close links are maintained to ensure the children easily adapt and that their progress is maximised.
All members of staff are highly trained and are committed to helping individual children to develop and grow, both academically and as caring, responsible young people.
In Key Stage 2, the allocation of French is increased and in addition, Latin is taught in Years 5 and 6.
Key Stage 2 children benefit from a rich variety of experiences, ranging from visits to museums, art galleries, wildlife centres and educational industrial centres, to visits from prize-winning authors, journalists and artists.
Sport is an integral part of our curriculum and is taught by PE specialists. In addition to the normal school sports of hockey, netball, gymnastics and swimming, children are also given the opportunity to participate in unusual sports such as fencing, judo, indoor rugby and five-aside football. Many children participate in inter-school competitions on a weekly basis.
Our staff are all committed to ensuring that the children are happy, confident and fulfilled, lifelong learners.
